Report Output and Filtering

Reports - as well as letters, forms, labels and other layouts - can be printed to a printer, previewed on the screen or sent via fax or email.

The Print Genie (shown here) takes you through a series of dialog boxes in which you can select which records you want to include, the order of those records, the format the document should take (PDF, RTF, etc.) and how the printout should be routed.

On this page, you are asked which records you would like to select. An advanced user who is familiar with Alpha Five functions and expressions might type the filter expression in herself. However, it is often more convenient to use the Filter Builder Genie - which can be opened from within the Print Genie.
